Thank you for clicking! You are absolutely in the right place if you are hungry, and looking for something different. When you think of a restaurant near me, I bet golf course dining doesn’t always cross your mind. Crosswind Grille has everything that you expect and more. Open seasonally since 2004, we have bucked the trend of predictable golf course food. While golfers have always appreciated our “out of the box” approach, the secret is getting out and non-golfers drive here from Appleton and Green Bay for the incredible views, great service, gigantic bar, and Chef Melissa's comfort food. I, Nick Stephens, aka Golf Course Owner Guy, proud owner of this special establishment invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy Crosswind Grille at Royal St. Patrick's Golf Links.

Food and Bar

Open Daily at 11am April through early November, this restaurant near me offers a large dine-in or carry out menu consisting of Appetizers, Burgers, Salads, Wraps, Sandwiches, Power Bowls, Mac, Pizza, & Kids Meals. Every Friday Night we serve a Classic Wisconsin Style Fish Fry with all your favorites including Perch, Haddock, Walleye, Salmon and monthly features personally concocted by Chef Melissa Nelson. No microwaves, no pre-cooked, everything is made to order. Portions are generous, prices affordable and the best part is, we have lots of healthy items for discerning diners.

You say, what about a bar near me? What would a good Scottish Links course be without a bar with the passion for Irish Hospitality? Our massive bar, with 78 windows, and covered dining veranda offers incredible views of the Links just completed. Many a player has commiserated their great shots while enjoying one of our 14 ice cold tap beers. Crosswind routinely stocks a wide variable of domestic, import and craft beers. Our Bourbon selection is top notch.  We pride ourselves on staying trendy and hip, all those attributes can be found in our dynamic drink menus.

Earning Her Big Break

Chef Melissa Nelson was born in Germany. She moved to the United States when she was a small child. Being a part of a military family she resided in a few Southern states, until settling down in Wisconsin. She attended Ashwaubenon High School, graduating in 2010. Upon graduation she went to college at St. Cloud State in Minnesota to pursue a degree in Nursing. She later transferred back to Wisconsin and finished up her degree locally. She worked in healthcare for a few years before deciding that she needed to change paths and follow her true dream of becoming a chef. Melissa started at Royal St. Patrick’s as a line cook the summer of 2018. Passion and determination allowed her to quickly become the Sous Chef to Executive Chef and mentor, Robert Novitski. Melissa was promoted to Director of Food/Beverage & Executive Chef in December of 2023.

Melissa loves to work with modest ingredients, showcasing their fullest potential. She enjoys experimenting with cuisines, and creating dishes that fuse together different cultures. Her and her husband Rodney, love to travel, often basing the entire trip around new culinary experiences

Location

Located exactly halfway between Appleton and Green Bay, the golf course sits along side Highway 41 to the east. Golfers and restaurant guests use the Hwy U / Wrightstown exit to frequent us. It is an incredible meeting place halfway between the two cities whether you gather for business or simply to meet friends.

One of our great assets is our outdoor veranda dining. In a restaurant world that attempts to provide outdoor seating, pretty much no one can match the 150 acre view over a pristine golf course from an elevated point of view. Some of our customers refuse to tell others simply because they don’t want this place to get busy. That’s when you know you have something unique.

My wife and I go to this place all the time. They always have good beers in stock that are on tap... relatively nice craft beers.

Their food is above-average that's for darn sure. And the wait staff is very very friendly to us.

Like I said to go there all the time and there's a reason for that.

I had the salmon and it was excellent. My wife had the fish platter and that was very good. The margarita flight was something neat to try. Kaylee was a great bartender. Will definitely go back

Going to keep coming here all the time for lunch at the union training center. Awesome view of the golf course! High quality good tasting at a very reasonable price. And they're quick. Probably going to come here all week for class haha 😄

Mac & cheese is to die for! Lots of fun, unique flavors. Great burgers and wraps too. Great views of the golf course!

One of my favorite places to eat. I am generally not impressed with golf course food. Typically just fryer quick food done by high school kids. Not this place. Sure they have a lot of bar food like items, but I have never seen those items prepared like this place. It's hard to describe, but it's just different.
